A Lasting Power of Attorney is a way to let someone act on your behalf and make decisions for you - this could be a family member, friend or anyone but you must trust them to make decisions in your best interests.

A Property and Financial LPA can be used as soon as it is registered and grants powers to deal with your bank account and other financial assets.

A Health and Welfare LPA only comes into effect when you loose the mental capacity to make your own decisions and allows the attorney to make decisions on your care and medical treatment.
