Cashier/Admin Assistant - Redruth Office

We’re looking for a motivated Cashier/Admin Assistant to join our Redruth office. This role is ideal for recent A-level graduates in accounting, individuals in further education, or those with practical experience in cashiering or accounting. Full training is provided, making this a great entry-level opportunity with growth potential.


Role Details:

  • Work Hours: 9:00 am - 5:15 pm, Monday to Friday, totalling 36.25 hours per week. We offer flexible arrangements, including a 4-day week or split hours over 5 days, to support work-life balance (minimum 25 hours).

  • Additional Hours: The role requires covering staff absences within the cashier’s office, which may occasionally include paid extra hours to cover holiday periods.

  • Salary: £23,015 to £26,000 per year (based on full-time hours, 36.25 per week), depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Entry & Management: Use Microsoft Office, Osprey Approach, and other software platforms for data entry and file management.

  • Cashiering Tasks: Handle basic accounting functions, client requisitions, postings, and banking software operations. 

    • Daily accounting processes, including bank reconciliations, daily posting of receipts and payments, credit control, purchase ledger & petty cash management. 

  • Administrative Support: Assist with file management, GDPR compliance, and administrative tasks for the Practice Manager.

    • Daily general admin, filing, copying, archiving of files and deeds, logging and retrieval of these.

  • AML Compliance: Support internal AML procedures and CDD checks with full training provided.

    • Daily checks and updates to the in-house ID system, including processing of checks and results using our ID partners' portal. 

  • Regulatory Compliance: Maintain compliance with Solicitors' Accounting Rules, including transaction reconciliation.

  • Microsoft Office Proficiency: Basic experience with Outlook, Word, and Excel.

  • Confidentiality: Strict client confidentiality, ability to show understanding and sensitivity to high-level access information and financing


What We Offer:

  • Job Types: Full-time, Temp-to-Perm, Graduate, with flexibility options.

  • Salary Range: £23,015 to £26,000 per year, with a yearly bonus (based on full-time hours of 36.25 per week).

    • Meets minimum wage for entry-level

    • Salary increases with experience

  • Additional Benefits: Flexitime, paid overtime, holiday entitlement based on contracted hours, and additional time off at Christmas and New Year.

    • 9-23 Days annual leave (23 based on full-time)

    • Additional leave on all bank holidays
