Commercial Conveyancing
Mr Thurstan Hoskin, BA, Senior Partner
born, bred,
brought up and living locally. Educated at Truro School and the
University of East Anglia. Legal training, after working in industry and
trade abroad and "up country" and also solicitors practices in Truro and
Wiltshire. As a partner of a firm with its principal office in
Truro, Mr Hoskin opened a branch in Redruth in 1979
and developed it from there.
In 1988 the partners decided to go their separate
ways, one eventually becoming a district judge,
another joining his practice with a larger firm
before retiring and Mr Hoskin taking over the
Redruth office which he continued to develop.
Mr Hoskin had started with the usual general
practice working in most fields, eg. crime, conveyancing, divorce.
As a result of the growth of the firm, Mr Hoskin now
specialises in
commercial conveyancing,
leases and the sales and
purchases of businesses as well as managing the
practice. Mr Hoskin is a member of The Cornwall Chamber of
Commerce & Industry.
Wills & Probate
Mr Alan
Gates, F.Inst.L.Ex
is a fully qualified Legal
Executive currently completing his compulsory 2 year employment term
prior to qualification. He specialises in
Wills and Probate
work.
Mr Gates brings to the post other experiences
including that as a successful owner of his own business
in quite a different field.
Mrs Stephanie Hague LLB (Hons)
is a recently qualified solicitor who has joined us from Bodmin to work with Mr Gates in the
probate department.

Family Law
Mrs Kathryn Newton LLb (Hons) spent 19 years
with a Devon firm before joining us. There she was a partner and
head of the family department. She is an advanced panel member for
ancillary relief private children act work with the Resolution panel.
Kathryn is familiar with legal aid procedures as well as conducting
private client work.

Landlord & Tenant
Mr Thurstan Hoskin deals
with granting and buying leases and matters of that nature.
We
deal with some Landlord & Tenant disputes and these will be dealt with
by Mr Hoskin and/or Mr David Farmer.
Trainee Solicitor
We have a trainee solicitor currently undertaking his training contract.
He is Mr Lee Naylor LLb (Hons). Lee
was born in Cornwall and educated at primary and secondary level
locally. Lee completed his Law degree at the University of the
West of England (Bristol). He successfully completed his
post-graduate Legal Practice Course at the Bristol Institute of Legal
Practice. Lee started his training contract in September 2007 and
is currently undertaking his first seat in the Family Law department before moving into
commercial property, residential property, wills and
probate in succession.
