Miscellaneous Bits of Law

You should notify the DVLA of your change of address.  The fine for failing to inform the DVLA is up to 1,000!  Although many people have not notified the DVLA in the past, with the Government increasingly short of funds, it is an obvious temptation for it to conduct a campaign on the subject!  If you have a photocard license you also need to be able to produce the paper counterpart.  If you have the modern license with the photograph, you must up date the photograph at ten yearly intervals.  Failure to do so is an offence!  Neither of the above invalidates your right to drive, it simply makes you liable to a fine.

Most contracts can be legally binding without being in writing

The father does not have to be named on a birth certificate.  However, if one is included, this can have legal implications for the father.

While there have been "common law wives" in the past, it is extremely unlikely that anyone will ever be accorded that title and with it any legal implications in the future.
